Tri Season Has Started

So was finally able to get started with some swim/bike/run.  Westfield's Sprint was last Sunday the 21st.  Was a fun race and will definitely be back for next year.  It was a good start to the season.  Even with 35 degree weather for the bike and run.  We will use that to blame the slightly slow bike and run time on.  :)  Swim was good.  A short 300 yard pool swim in snake format.  Passed 4 or 5 people in the pool (not easy to do in lanes but was able to get it done) and finished with a 4:33 time.  A little slow but when dodging lane swimmers and lane ropes, I was happy with it.  Transition was  good.  It was a decent little jog from the Rec center to the T area so I was happy with my 2:22 time there.  The bike course was awesome for a short 6 mile loop (that we did twice)  I could have pushed a bit harder and finished in under 32 minutes but with the cold weather I wasn't disappointed in my 34:00 time.  Now the hiccup comes into play.  Good T2 of 1:50 seeing as no one could feel their hands and feet at this point.  However about 60 seconds into my run i realized I forgot my race belt and bib.  Turn around, run back, get it, and now start again.  25:18 run time should have definitely been about 22:00 but it happens.  That is why this one was the first Tri of the year.  haha.  Overall I had a 1:08 time for the event so barely missed my goal of 1:05.  I finished 12th overall (would have been 7th without the race belt mistake) and won the 30-39 age group.  We will call it a decent way to start the year off.  Now on to MONTICELLO!!!!
